The Reds have lost 27-year old righty reliever Marcus McBeth to the Red Sox on waivers. McBeth was not pitching too well for the Reds in AAA and other pitchers had passed him up in the Reds’ system so they won’t miss him. McBeth pitched in 24 games (0 starts) in AAA this season and he was 1-1 with a 6.20 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP. McBeth pitched in 23 games (0 starts) for the Reds last season and he was 3-2 with a 5.95 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. McBeth has a good arm but the Reds shouldn’t miss him much.
