The Reds have signed 25-year old righty swinging 2B/SS P.J. Phillips to a minor league deal. He is Brandon Phillips’ younger brother. P.J. played in 25 games in A-ball for the Angels last year and he was 21 of 86 (.244 avg, .645 OPS) with 9 runs scored, 8 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. Phillips has now played in 518 games in his first six years in the minors and he is 484 of 1,907 (.254 avg, .685 OPS) with 256 runs scored, 38 homers, 207 RBIs and 118 stolen bases. This signing was just to keep Brandon Phillips happy in Cincinnati.
