The Cincinnati Reds sign Ryan Madson
The Reds have signed 31-year old righty closer Ryan Madson to a 1-year deal. Madson pitched in 62 games (0 starts) for the Phillies last year and he was 4-2 with 32 saves, a 2.37 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. He has now pitched in 491 games (18 starts) in his first 9 years in the majors and he is 47-30 with 52 saves, a 3.59 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. I love this signing for the Reds as I think Madson is a better pitcher than last year’s closer Francisco Cordero.
