The Cincinnati Reds sign Dioner Navarro
The Reds have signed 27-year old switch-hitting catcher Dioner Navarro to a minor league deal. Navarro played in 64 games for the Dodgers last year and he was 34 of 176 (.193 avg, .600 OPS) with 13 runs scored, 5 homers and 17 RBIs. He has now played in 602 games in his first 8 years in the majors and he is 473 of 1,942 (.244 avg, .660 OPS) with 202 runs scored, 39 homers, 197 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. Unless Ryan Hanigan gets dealt before the season starts, Navarro will be playing in AAA.
